What if we paid you to do something good for your health? No, it’s not a joke or an election promise. It’s a very real measure<\/strong>, straight out of New York State, where quitting smoking is now rewarded… with hard cash<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

As part of a bold and symbolic public health program, New York City has decided to motivate its smokers and vapers to turn the page<\/strong>, with a nice bonus at the end: up to $2,500<\/strong> for the most committed.<\/p>\n\n

Sometimes it’s hard to make the decision to stop smoking. Even when the will is there, habits, cravings and stress often take over. This is precisely why the State of New York has decided to create a real collective “trigger”<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

From August 1 to 25, 2025<\/strong>, all smokers and vapers living in the state are invited to take part in a 25-day challenge without tobacco or electronic cigarettes<\/strong>. And it’s well worth the effort: at the end of the challenge, one participant will be drawn to win $2,500<\/strong> if he or she has complied with the rules. <\/p>\n\n

This program, dubbed “Stop & Win”,<\/strong> was not launched at random. In fact, it celebrates the 25th anniversary of<\/strong> New York State’s anti-smoking hotline<\/strong>: NYS Quitline<\/strong>. For a quarter-century, this free helpline has been helping thousands of people to free themselves from cigarettes. <\/p>\n\n

Rather than blow out its candles in the traditional way, NYS Quitline wanted to do things in a big way and offer a new lease of life to its residents<\/strong>, encouraging them to become actors in their own transformation. A symbolic, generous and profoundly human gesture<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

\ud83c\udf81 A draw, but not only: 10 other winners rewarded<\/h2>\n\n

Of course, not everyone will walk away with the main prize. But to make everyone feel valued and encouraged, ten other participants<\/strong> will also be selected to receive a reward of $250<\/strong> each. <\/p>\n\n

The aim is simple: to reward willpower<\/strong>, encourage effort<\/strong> and recognize the courage<\/strong> of those who dare to break their addiction to tobacco or vape. And above all, to show that every step towards a smoke-free life deserves recognition<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
