In high-school classrooms, in caf\u00e9s, at student parties: the vapoteur<\/strong> is everywhere. Discreet, colorful, flavored, they seem harmless. And yet, the figures speak for themselves: according to a recent European study, almost one in four young people aged 15 to 18 vapors regularly<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Why are electronic cigarettes so appealing to young people?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Sweet flavors that play down nicotine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Strawberry, vanilla, watermelon, cotton candy… Fruity, gourmet flavors<\/strong> create a deceptive effect.These sweet aromas<\/strong> mask the active substance<\/strong>, nicotine<\/strong>, and insidiously install a consumption behavior<\/strong>.The gesture becomes a reflex, a social habit<\/strong>, almost a fashion accessory.<\/p>\n\n

Where conventional cigarettes evoked addiction<\/strong> and disease<\/strong>, e-cigarettes are presented as fun, modern and safe<\/strong>.Digital marketing<\/strong>, particularly on TikTok<\/strong>, Snapchat<\/strong> and Instagram<\/strong>, plays a considerable role: aesthetic staging, influencers who “cloud” with style, challenges around vaping… everything is done to trivialize<\/strong> the act of consuming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Misinformation: a silent danger<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Many young people still think that vape does not contain nicotine<\/strong>.In reality, almost 80% of e-liquids sold in Europe<\/strong> do. And even when they don’t, the repeated gestures<\/strong> and the search for immediate pleasure<\/strong> recreate a dependency pattern<\/strong> comparable to that of tobacco. <\/p>\n\n

This false sense of control<\/strong> is one of the main pitfalls of e-cigarettes<\/strong>.Some teenagers vapotage “just to try it”… only to find themselves unable to quit<\/strong> a few months later.The adolescent brain<\/strong>, still developing, is particularly vulnerable to reward stimuli<\/strong> and dopamine release<\/strong>.In other words: the earlier you start, the higher the risk ofaddiction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
